IG Masonry Support was able to meet every requirement with respect to lead times, product quality, and quantity. Following quote approval, IG’s design team specified 2067′ of its off-the-shelf TITAN MAX masonry support system for the spandrel panel brickwork on levels 2, 5, 7, 9, and 11, as well as for the corbelled setback brickwork at the parapets. This system offered fast turnaround times and ease of installation, fixing back to Hilti HAC-V 40 Cast-in Anchor Channel Inserts. The Thermal Shims supplied as standard with every masonry support bracket also provided enhanced thermal performance and an extended service life before first maintenance, thanks to their stainless steel manufacturing.
For the building’s typical brick piers, over 961′ of bespoke Welded Masonry Support systems were designed to allow the system to pick up the brickwork return reveals. For the more complex corbelled brick piers on the east and west elevations, a stepped Folded Angle system with gussets was designed to achieve the full architectural intent.
From a time-critical urban development to a technically demanding mix of standard and bespoke masonry solutions, this project highlights IG Masonry Support’s ability to deliver across every stage of a complex build. By combining off-the-shelf efficiency with bespoke engineering, IG ensured that Sandstone Structures could meet its schedule without compromising on quality or design integrity – making it a reliable partner for high-rise residential construction in one of the country’s most demanding building markets.
